Description
Excellent silverplated pieces by SMF. European sized, considerably larger than today's USA flatware. Age is unknown since there is no clear indication on who SMF was or where the SMF maker was located The SMF name was used by the Saxony Metal Goods Factory in Germany, but I could find no indication they used a Fleur De Lys mark It is possible SMF was based in France due to the mark, but several French sites list the mark as Unknown According to the Replacements website, the Chambly Silversmith Co produced an exact pattern that they called Marie Antoinette, but these are definitely not by Chambly. There is also an unknown makers exact pattern they simply call UNF1069 I believe these are from the 1890's to the early 1900's, but have no provenance to show The 84g mark typically denotes the amount of silver used to plate a dozen pieces Typical signs of use or age Clean and table ready The dark or color spots are just reflections This listing includes: 4 Dinner Forks - 8 1/2" I have another listing in this pattern posted Insured Shipping will be by USPS Please dont hesitate to ask questions
